Publix kicks off 27th year of support for CMN Hospitals

From May 31 – June 16, Publix stores will raise millions of dollars to support Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. Associates at Publix will empower their customers to become miracle makers by offering miracle coupons for purchase.

Miracle coupons will raise critical funds during the annual three-week register campaign and help your local children’s hospital procure life-saving equipment and provide research, education and outreach programs.

Coupons cost $1, $3 and $5 and offer values of $5.50, $10 and $20 from vendors like Kellogg’s Rice Krispies Cereal, Mars (Mars Petcare, Mars Chocolate and Wrigley), Johnson & Johnson, Coca-Cola and Dasani, Georgia Pacific (Angel Soft Bath Tissue and Sparkle Paper Towels), Oil-Dri (Cat’s Pride®), Pure Leaf Tea and Frito Lay.

Collected funds will benefit children like Drew. A boating accident led to a 75-day stay at the hospital for Drew, where he recovered from multiple soft-tissue injuries and marine-bacteria infections, as well as damage to his spleen, liver, diaphragm, kidneys, lungs and femur.

Doctors and nurses were impressed by Drew’s persistent “can-do” attitude and his concern for others, despite what he was going through himself. He has a great outlook on life and hasn’t let his traumatic experience get him down. Drew is a happy and goofy child who makes people laugh daily.

For Drew, it was never a question of whether he’d walk and run again; he was determined to do both and pushed through the pain. He is an inspiration to others and draws from his faith to see him through.

Funds raised cover equipment like syringe pumps and a transport ventilator, which helps stabilize kids like Drew between surgeries.

For 27 years, Publix has supported CMN Hospitals in the communities it serves, during which customers and employees have raised more than $44 million for the organization since 1992.
